Anne Cocks
Anne Cocks was appointed as a School Nurse on April 13, 1987 working in the First Aid Centre.
Anne went on to take over the management of the First Aid Centre and continued to provide first aid and care to students at the Kew campus and the Bulleen Sports Complex until retiring in 2009.
During her time as a School Nurse, Anne was also responsible for the introduction and implementation of the comprehensive student immunisation program.
Anne established the school-funded flu vaccine for staff and arranged the yearly visits from the Red Cross Blood Bank to Carey.
Anne also organised and established the anaphylaxis training for all Carey Staff.
As a member of the Victorian School Nurses Special Interest Group, Anne was able to exchange information and interact with other school nurses across Victoria. She also served as Treasurer of this group. During all of this time, Anne made sure that she maintained her nursing skills and kept up to date with current nursing practice by continuing her shifts at various hospitals.
Anne cared for, advised and assisted students and staff at Carey for 22 years.
