Add5th Sep 2023 12:03PMThis drawing was published in the 1990 Carey Chronicle alongside the trip report I wrote for the annual music camp. From 1988 onward, the Senior School music camp was held at what is now Lady Northcote Discovery Camp in Bacchus Marsh. This drawing quite accurately depicts many of the students at the time in the Lady Northcote dining hall. Concert Band and Orchestra rehearsed in the dining hall, and small groups like the clarinet, flute and brass sections had individual practice sessions in the dormitory cabins. The head of music at that time was Mr. Basil Hawkins, and there is but one music teacher from that time still at Carey as of 2023, Mr. Jason Digby, who recited a poem to Debussy's Clair De Lune at the Centenary Concert.
