Natalie Gray (OCG 1979)
Natalie Gray (1979) was the first girl enrolled at Carey, marking a historic milestone and paving the way for future generations of female students
After completing her studies at Carey, Natalie earned a degree in Town Planning at the University of Melbourne. During her university summers in 1981-82, she returned to Carey as Chief Examination Supervisor for the HSC, supporting the school in its early co-educational years.
Natalie has remained closely connected to Carey, mentoring students, participating in careers nights and attending school events. In 2019, she shared her experiences as Carey’s inaugural girl scholar at Founders’ Day.
As a town planner, Natalie has specialised in non-government education facilities. Her contributions to Carey include advising on the Middle School redevelopment. This project extended the iconic rock wall on Barkers Road and added street-facing windows, reinforcing Carey’s role as an integral part of the Kew community.
