Trophy Collection
The Trophy Collection documents the rich sporting tradition and competitive history of Carey Baptist Grammar School from 1923 to the present. This collection comprises trophies awarded annually or seasonally for sporting excellence across a wide range of disciplines, including team and individual achievements.
The collection is divided into two main components:
-
Historical (defunct) trophies, which are no longer in active use, are preserved and held under the custodianship of the Archives. These trophies reflect discontinued events, merged competitions, or updated formats.
-
Current perpetual trophies, still awarded regularly, are held and maintained by the Sports Office.
Each trophy typically includes engraved details of past recipients, offering a valuable record of student achievement and evolving sporting programs over time. Where possible, contextual information such as donor names, event descriptions, and associated photographs or documentation has been retained or cross-referenced with school records.
Access Conditions:
Access to the historical trophies is by appointment with the Archives. Current trophies are held in the Sports Office and are not generally available for public access, except during relevant sporting events or displays.
