In March 1973, the school purchased Foam for $860, renaming it Toona-Foam. The boat was extensively refitted for outdoor education programs, including the installation of a new cabin superstructure, rebuilt seats, a new console, and wiring. A Yanmar diesel engine was later fitted in 1974 after previous engines proved unsuitable.
