Rectangular cast bronze commemorative plaque with raised serif lettering and four corner fixing holes. The plaque records that the building was a gift of Burdett Laycock Esq. in memory of his father Frederick Laycock Esq., and that it was opened on 28 November 1925.
Originally mounted at the entrance to Laycock House, a former boarding house at the school, the plaque now survives as a reminder of the site’s earlier history. Following the demolition of Laycock House, it was relocated and is now displayed inside the De Young Performing Arts Centre, which occupies the former site of the boarding house.
