Tranter House is named in honour of Reverend Leonard Evenden Tranter, a pivotal figure in Carey's history. Often regarded as the true founding father of the school, Reverend Tranter played a crucial role in its establishment by successfully persuading the Baptist Union of Victoria to support the creation of Carey Baptist Grammar School. His vision and dedication helped lay the foundations for the school community we know today.
