Old Carey Grammarians Football Club
Description
Alternative nameOld Carey Football ClubHistory
Old Carey Grammarians' Football Club first formed in 1954 however it was first back in 1951 that a group of Old Boys led by David Yuille made an application to field a team, but failed because no oval was available (facilities at Bulleen would be developed and available for use from 1962). Later the VAFA secretary approached Mr A. J. Wilcox who was then Secretary of the OCGA, and later to become a President of Old Carey, requesting that the Old Boys institute a football club. This time the VAFA provided a ground, at Yarra Bend National Park, which was shared by arch enemies Old Trinity.
