Description
CreatorF. P. Morris.G. H Swanton (composer)Description
This song was later replaced with 'Play the game' originally written anonymously by H. G. Steele in the School magazine.
Carry on, Carey!
We may not always win it,
But we're out the game to play;
Our eyes are on our Captain,
And he'll lead us all the way.
We'll climb the tree of knowledge,
On its branches wide to cling,
For there we'll catch the vision,
And with happy hearts we'll sing.
Chorus
Carry on, Carey
Carey,
Carry on, Carey
Count on me
The world is wide before us.
And the skies above are blue,
But there are foes to conquer,
There is work that men must do.
"Be Faithful" is our watchword,
And "be ready" is our cry;
We'll do our best for Carey,
And to beat our best we'll try.
There is need in our Australia
For the men we mean to be,
When "swatting" days are over,
And for wider fields we're free.
We pledge our all for service,
And our trophies all we'll bring;
We'll bring them all to Carey,
And with all the boys we'll sing.
