An Australian oak Melbourne Stock Exchange chair, late 19th century, modelled in the Gothic revival style, the green leather upholstered back surmounted by a carved monogram and three fleur de lys finials, the roll over arms and contoured seat raised on turned legs and stretchers.
Statement of significanceThis chair is one of 120 used for 70 years by the Melbourne Stock Exchange, until the close of call trading at that exchange in December 1961.
