Thomas Press Fraser
Sergeant Thomas Press Fraser, R.A.A.F., was killed in a plane crash during an operational flight in Canada on 15th September.
Born to Mrs. Fraser of Canterbury Road, Surrey Hills, and the late Lance Corporal Verner Walter Fraser—who was killed in action in France in 1916—Tom entered Carey Baptist Grammar School in 1925 on a School Scholarship and left in December 1926.
He continued his education at Dookie Agricultural College, earning a Diploma in Agriculture before working on sheep stations in New South Wales. In early 1941, he enlisted in the Royal Australian Air Force.
Just a month before leaving Australia in November 1941, he married Miss Phyllis McKeachie of Buttabone Stud Park, Warren, N.S.W. Tom had recently completed his training in Canada and had been recommended for a commission when he tragically lost his life. He was 30 years old.
