Kingsley, invariably known as Rex, entered Carey as a Foundation Scholar, also acting as Head Prefect during its first two years. Rex then left school for one year's teacher training, after which he returned to Carey and served as a member of staff for seven years.
Kingsley Rees was the first school captain (1923 and 1924).
He captained the cricket team to several victories in 1923.
Kingsley Rees (staff 1925-1932) was the first alumni appointed to the staff and one of the first three university graduates.
