Keith Edward Rimington
The son of Mr. and Mrs. G. A. Rimington of Burke Road, Kew, Keith attended Carey from February 1928 to August 1931. After leaving school, he worked in the motor trade before joining his father’s business, G. Rimington Pty. Ltd., at Parkhill Nursery in Kew.
Keith enlisted in the R.A.A.F. in April 1941 and was deployed overseas as a Sergeant Air-Gunner in March 1942. He was promoted to Flight Sergeant in June 1942 and later to Warrant Officer.
Having completed numerous operations over Germany with a Wellington Squadron, Keith was transferred to a Halifax Squadron. On the night of 20th January 1944, he was part of a crew tasked with attacking Berlin in a Halifax bomber, which tragically failed to return to base.
He was 27 years old at the time of his death.
