Wesley John White
Flying Officer Wesley John White was killed on 3rd June 1944 as the result of an aircraft accident in the Middle East.
W. J. White, youngest son of Mrs. F. J. White, of Edgevale Road, Kew, and the late F. J. White, was at Carey from February, 1928, to December, 1930, when he obtained his Intermediate Certificate. He then joined the clerical staff of the Victorian Railways and remained in the Department until he enlisted in the R.A.A.F. late in 1940. He sailed for England in November 1941, as a Sergeant-Pilot, and, after being stationed at various places in England and Scotland, was transferred to the Middle East theatre at the time of the battle of Tunisia. He remained there until his death in a crash in western Algeria, while he was flying a Dakota aircraft. He was 28 years of age.
