Russell Costello
Mr Russell Costello joined the foundation staff of the Middle School in June 1952 following war service in New Guinea and study at the University of Melbourne.
For the major part of his thirty-three years at the school he has held the positions of Head of the History Department and Sportsmaster, in both of which important areas he has given able and dedicated service. He was also one of the Moore Housemasters when the school had the four House system. He is the most senior Sportsmaster of the Associated Public Schools, an organization to which he has made a fine contribution. indeed he has continuously represented Carey since we joined the A.P.S. twenty-six years ago.
Outside his school life, Russell was a lecturer in Greek at the Melbourne Bible College and had a great deal of involvement in the work of the Baptist Church.
Russell retired from Carey in 1984.
