Originally from Ireland, Mr. Bob Calwell came to Carey in 1957. He was for some years the Head of the Biology Department, foundation Housemaster of Gadsden House (a position he held for fifteen years) and was a versatile contributor to extra-curricular life through his involvement in football, swimming, athletics, table-tennis, volleyball and chess.
