Dr. Harold Moore joined the Council in 1929 and served as President from 1939 to 1952. He graciously continued as a representative of the Baptist Union until his retirement in November 1965, and maintained a deep interest in the activities and welfare of the School until his passing. As an expression of the Council's gratitude, he was appointed an Honorary Life Member in November 1969.

His wide and rich experience, his wisdom and kindliness, and fine Christian character enabled him to influence for good the policies of the School over a period of 36 years and guide the Council during a vital period of the School's development.
