DescriptionDuring Term 3 [1987] Miss M. Jefferson directed a number of Year 9 Drama students in a one act play, "Us and Them", which was staged in the William Carey Chapel.

Written by Richard Campton, this is very much a human relations play, dealing with the meeting of two groups of people (representatives of tribes and nations), and showing their fears and suspicions, the development of trust and understanding, and the possibilities of catastrophe.

Miss Jefferson's production was quite outstanding. Particularly impressive were the cleverly ordered movements of the students, in complicated sequences that were not merely well choreographed but acted out with professional agility and co-ordination.

Special effects were well used, and the students and audience received an education in the intensity of experience which first class theatre is able to provide.

Miss Jefferson holds special qualifications in Drama and brings a new degree of expertise to Carey theatrical activities. She was assisted by Miss G. Smith.
