Situated in the Middle School, the '1979 Room' was officially opened on 24 August 2023 during Carey’s centenary year. The room honours the 66 trailblazing Year 11 and 12 girls who joined Carey in 1979—a number that, by coincidence, closely mirrors the group of boys who first attended Carey on its opening day in 1923.
