The Manders Area
Description
Description
The Manders Area was a play area in the Junior School, officially opened on 4 July 1986. It was named in honour of Mrs M. E. Manders, a pioneering and much-loved teacher who led the Beginners' Grade from 1966 to 1981. The dedication ceremony marked the 20th anniversary of the Beginners program and celebrated the warmth and nurturing environment Mrs Manders had fostered. Attended by school leaders, staff, parents, and students past and present, the event included speeches, the unveiling of a commemorative plaque, and a prayer of dedication.
Around 2010, The Manders Area was repurposed to accommodate the Junior School kitchen garden program.
