Description
ArtistJames FlettDescriptionDetailed architectural etching depicting buildings of Carey Baptist Grammar School, featuring Urangeline at left and Laycock House (former boarding house) at right. Urangeline, an earlier residence, is shown partially screened by mature palm trees and garden plantings. Laycock House appears as a two-storey brick building with a tiled roof and restrained decorative detailing, presented prominently in the foreground.
The composition is rendered in fine, controlled linework with delicate cross-hatching, characteristic of etching. The viewpoint looks across an open lawn, emphasising the spatial relationship between the original house and later school buildings.
The print is a limited edition, numbered 26/50 in pencil at lower left, and signed by artist in pencil at lower right. Title inscribed in pencil at centre lower margin: “Carey Baptist Grammar School.”Historical notes
