Scout Den
The first move to build a new Scout Den was made in 1959, with fundraising beginning the following year. The School Council supported the project by agreeing to contribute half of the estimated cost of approximately $5,000. Over the next two years, Mr H. H. J. Dimmick, assisted by a dedicated group of parents, led an energetic fundraising campaign through activities such as paper drives, film programmes, barbecues, the tuck shop at Bulleen, and school drama productions. The target was reached early in 1967, and construction commenced in the second term. Progress was rapid, and the building was officially opened on Sunday 22 October 1967 by Mrs Ursula Dunshea, wife of the then President of Council. The new den provided ample space for Scout rallies and inspections, along with storage for canoes, kayaks, and pioneering equipment beneath the structure. Above all, it gave the Scouts a permanent home, made possible through the commitment of its supporters.
