A large community art project commissioned by the City of Manningham for the Lynette Avenue Playground, Warrandyte, in 2003. Created collaboratively by staff and students from the Donvale campus, the installation featured giant sculptural totem poles and a serpent-shaped seating area designed to enhance the playground environment and encourage community interaction.
Lead by art teacher, Jeanette Jennings, the project reflected the Donvale campus philosophy of collaborative creativity, environmental design and community engagement. Combining functional landscape elements with imaginative public art, the installation contributed a distinctive artistic identity to the playground while providing students with the opportunity to participate in a significant civic commission.
