In 2017-18, Donvale Campus and artist Jeanette Jennings collaborated with Manningham Council on a community art project for the Victoria Street playground at Ruffey Lake Park in Doncaster East.

Students from Donvale created blue ceramic pieces and decorative pebbles, which were later incorporated into a riverbed-style channel flowing into the sandpit area.

The project culminated in the installation of The Giant Gecko, a striking sculpture positioned along the embankment. This large, colourful lizard is adorned with bands of red, orange, purple and brown stones, and stands guard over the steps leading down to the shelters and barbecue areas.
