Senior Study Centre
The Senior Study Centre was the first of the buildings to be erected as a result of the Onward Carey Development Project. It was opened on 4 April 1970 in the presence of the Headmaster and interested friends and parents by the Chairman of the Campaign Committee, Mr. H. G. Stevens.
The Centre provided six classrooms, Chaplain's counselling facilities, a common room for 12th formers, a tuckshop and toilets. The six classrooms comprised three pairs of rooms designed so that the wall between each two rooms could fold back to make one large room suitable for meetings or classes of 60-80. At the back of one of each two rooms was a study area separated from the rest of the room by a glass wall. All rooms and passages were carpeted, and classrooms furnished with modern tables and chairs.
This building was demolished to make way for the Grutzner Centre for Learning and Innovation.
