2011 Carey Artist-in-Residence Program: Kaye Clancy
About the Program
Visiting Artist, Kaye Clancy, a ceramic artist. Kaye worked on a large mural with Prep and Year 6 children. The Year 6 children also completed ceramic portraits to line the entrance to the Junior School.
About the Artist
Kaye Clancy is a Victorian ceramic artist and descendant of the Yorta Yorta and Bangerang peoples. Working primarily in clay, she is known for her colourful and expressive sculptures of birds, animals and figures inspired by the natural environment. After studying Fine Arts at RMIT University, majoring in ceramics and printmaking, she developed a career as both a practicing artist and educator, leading workshops and artist residencies in schools. Her work reflects a strong connection to nature, community and environmental awareness.
